We created the Global Craft Policy Index to help governments, associations, and non-profits design stronger national strategies for artisan sectors.

• The index draws on in-depth analysis of legal texts, national programs, funding mechanisms, and certification systems, among other inputs.

• We assessed over 30 indicators across institutional, commercial, and cultural dimensions to benchmark support for traditional crafts.

• Grounded in field visits and firsthand research across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, the index captures not just policy—but practice.
